Ford GT

“Immense thrust, unshakable grip and, head-turning looks – don't think you can go about your business in a Ford GT and not be noticed. It’s one of the coolest shapes on the road but also one of the best-performing cars you can buy. Period.” - Car and Driver Magazine

On February 1, 2004, the Ford Motor Company aired an extraordinary television commercial during Super Bowl XXXVIII’s pre-game show (click the Ford logo to watch the commercial). It featured an astonishing machine roaring around the road-racing course at Thunderhill Park.  As viewers senses were relentlessly assaulted by a frenetic fusion of raucous V-8 thunder, smoldering tires, squealing tail-out apex attacks, chaotic camera angles and the brutal battering of clutch and gears, a calm voice asked three questions:

"In what gear do you realize that a car is everything it’s supposed to be?"
"In what gear do you know nothing can catch you?"
"In what gear do you know…it’s the one?"

With that, Ford introduced its stunning GT supercar – a modern, road-going interpretation of their classic GT40 race car. The same car that miraculously finished 1-2-3 in the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans abruptly ending Ferrari’s six year winning streak in humiliating defeat. The GT40 went on to dominate the famed endurance race over the next three years crushing everyone who dared compete.

Those halcyon days live on in the Ford GT – a stupendous supercar that matches its breathtaking beauty with awe-inspiring performance. Its supercharged, mid-mounted 5.4L V-8 delivers 550 horsepower and offers an intoxicating combination of blistering performance, predictable handling and reassuring brakes.

The Ford GT will forever remain one of the most capable and significant cars ever produced. "It is so beautiful that it makes your eyes hurt, and so full of wonderful details that even a long day spent looking it over is nowhere near long enough," wrote Colin Goodwin of England’s Autocar Magazine.

Indeed, it’s the one…
